Magnet Specifcations and Information COLORS Standard Colors for BIC Magnets are:
COLOR MATCHING: Magnets are printed with 4-color process inks as opposed to spot color inks. There are several Standard Imprint Colors available. When requesting a non-standard imprint color, an exact PMS color match cannot be guaranteed; however, we will match as closely as possible. Any time color is critical, we recommend you order a color proof and submit a color sample (swatch or photograph). Please submit files in the CMYK color mode only. RGB files will be converted to CMYK which can result in color shifts. Raster images (digital photos) should be at least 300 dpi at 100% final size. MAGNET THICKNESS: 20 or 30 mil. Defaults to 20 mil if no thickness is specified. MINIMUM LINE WEIGHTS & TYPE SIZES: Text can be as small as 6 point on most fonts. Lighter fonts may need to be larger. Lines must be .5 pt. thick (  ). Reversed lines must be thicker - 1 full pt. thick (  ). SCREENS: When a file contains a screen, it must be at no less than 10%. Anything less will not print properly. BORDERS: Borders are not recommended along the edges of Magnet products. However, art intended to print as a border must be formatted 3/32" inside the die line and extend 1/16" beyond the die line. BLEEDS: There is no extra charge for bleeds. Art intended to print to the edge must extend 1/8" outside the cut line. On Picture Frame Magnets, the inner cut-out artwork should bleed 1/8" onto the outer frame. LAYOUT: Always provide a layout and a hard copy of your art so we will know how you want your imprint to appear on your magnet. Provide a color composite of multi-color images, or send it in color digitally (VECTOR ART is preferred, PhotoShop PSD layered files are acceptable for photographic images. Text should always be VECTOR ART for sharpest imprint). PROOFS: A fax/email proof at $7(G) is available upon request for catalog quantity orders. A free email or fax proof will be provided on each BIC Magnet order over catalog quantity. A color proof at $15(G) is also available upon request. A production proof at $25(G) is recommended when color matching is critical and when colors other than our standard imprint colors are used.
